The charm of the authentic... Sport, relaxation and discoveries

Mauritius’ landscapes are a constant invitation to escape. They enthral all those who put down roots here. Though numerous IRS projects have been developed in the north of the island, the southern region remains wild and well-preserved, a place in which tranquillity and peace can be enjoyed without moderation.

This is the exceptional setting for Baie du Cap, a small fishing village fringed by a coral reef and lush, generous nature.

Only minutes from the postcard-perfect beaches of La Prairie or Le Morne, the legendary local mountain classified as a UNESCO world heritage site, Baie du Cap is where you’ll find Anbalaba, the latest landmark in the southwest. Designed in perfect harmony with its environment, it is perfectly located only minutes from a variety of water sports and activities.

My day at Anbalaba

8H

8am Slowly, the world awakes. Birds sing and bright sunshine dapples the lagoon... The weather is perfect as I step out to buy fresh bread in Anbalaba Village, a few minutes from my home.

9H

After a family breakfast on the terrace, we head to the lagoon for a dolphin-watching excursion aboard a boat. A magical experience, like so many others we’ve had in Mauritius!

12noon

We get back to Anbalaba just in time for lunch. There’s nothing like a delicious club sandwich at the Pool & Spa club, next to the magnificent swimming pool that overlooks the ocean. And the children play on the water slides and at the kids’ club.

14H

We relax on the airy veranda adjoining our pleasant swimming pool, while the sportier among us rent bicycles and explore the mountains of Chamarel.

16H

In the late afternoon, we take our stand-up paddles out onto the lagoon, while the others relax with a massage at the spa.

19H

We meet up for some shopping in Anbalaba Village before indulging in an evening drink as the sun sets over the water. For dinner, we opt for succulent grilled fish as we listen to the concert taking place in the market hall.

Whether you seek relaxation, have an appetite for adventure, are a water sports or golf enthusiast, or are simply a lover of nature, you will be irresistibly seduced by « Anbalaba » . « Anbalaba » reinvente the Mauritian art of living.

The kindness of its people, who express themselves in both English and French, its pleasant climate and the sense of security it provides are only some of the traits that imbue the island with its matchless charm - and add to its international renown.
